Printing with Jealous
Our print studio is equipped to produce the highest quality water based fine art screen
prints and the finest archival inkjet pigment prints using the new generation of epson
giclee printers. Through collaboration between artist and printer we work with galleries,
individual artists and print publishers using our experience and expertise to turn the artist’s
initial ideas into a finished print edition.
We work from a wide variety of artwork sources from simple drawings on clear film to
digital photographic images.
After separating the colours we then develop each one individually onto screen stencils,
which we then pull, one colour at a time onto some of the finest printmaking papers to be
found. Some of our prints are made with only one colour, whilst in others we use over twenty
colours, sometimes creating even more with overlayed transluscent shades. We also make
editions using a combination of digital and silkscreen media, CMYK separation and the finest
half tones to achieve exceptional results.
We sometimes use varnishes to define areas and thick layers of ink pulled through coarse mesh
screens to create a relief. We can also pull metallic golds and silvers as well as hand applied gold
leaf to embellish certain prints and often deboss and tear our papers to give the exact look and
feel that is required for each individual edition.
The papers we use are quality cotton mould-made and hand-made papers generally printing edition sizes of
between 15 and 150 prints. All of our prints are signed and numbered by the artist and embossed
with our Jealous studio blind stamp.
We take pride in using established and traditional methods whilst always seeking to push the
boundaries of modern printmaking with an innovative and inquisitive approach.
