Time Spent Together In Your Head

Adam Bridgland

Jealous East

07 Oct 2021 — 24 Oct 2021

Jealous are delighted to present a new body of work by interdisciplinary artist Adam Bridgland, in his first solo exhibition at our Shoreditch gallery.

‘Time Spent Together In Your Head’ brings together a collection of mixed media works developed during the pandemic from the artist’s home studio in Cambridge; a time when his practice took a visual change in direction.
Responding to his circumstances and using materials available to him during that time, he continued his exploration of overlaying text and image, evolving his style and forming a new body of work using fluid brushstrokes and expressive painterly techniques. His family and the landscape around his home feature heavily as themes in his work, as these elements were key inspirations to him during the isolation forced by lockdown.
At its core the artwork is evocative, poignantly capturing beautiful and transient thoughts and moments against found imagery, paintings and sculptures, which collectively create a nostalgic and colourful exhibition of works.

Alongside the original pieces, Jealous will release three new print editions which use the artist’s vast experience in printmaking to actualise his vision, and to make his artworks available to a wider audience.
